    Movies

One on movies after a while. I decided not to sit through a 5 hr ordeal yesterday when Devdas was screened. As it is the movie was hopeless enough (and nearly 4 hrs long too!), SET Max would have screened it with innumerable ads and 'making-of-Devdas' tripe and made it a 5 hr long extravaganza (shades of the World Cup?).

I saw a Tamil movie Arasu starring Sarat Kumar Sr, Sarat Kumar Jr, Simran etc. This must be around the dozenth movie where Sarat Kumar plays father and son, and the half-dozenth where the father is a zamindar with a huge moustache and everyone thinks he is a lion re-incarnate (Vijaykanth, where art thou?). I hope George Bush Jr sees these movies so he can realise the striking similarities with his father. More importantly, it'll make him feel worried. What if there're (illegitimate) junior Saddams and Osamas all around the place all with an attitude and looks similar to their dads? How many more revenges will he take? Yeh aag kab bujhegi?
