What is education?
Appa forwarded me this explanation of education. Really does sum up the mess these guys have got it into.
A poor uneducated man created a billion dollar Reliance group.
Two business graduates from Stanford and Wharton business schools are busy breaking it up.
That's education.
I sense the nefarious political hand behind it all. Anil Ambani is now a Rajya Sabha MP, backed by the Samajwadi Party (of Mulayam Singh, Amar Singh etc.) and is obviously hungry to show off his status as a politician. Even if it wasnt he who triggered it in the first place, I am fairly certain that the politicians whose support he took to get to the Rajya Sabha are behind this all. They probably felt that by pitting Anil against Mukesh, they could have some fun on the sidelines, hoping that Anil won.
Alternately, is it likely that the Tatas, Birlas and Bajajs had a hand in this? After all, a less powerful Reliance means they become that much more powerful. Reliance doesnt quite enjoy it when a Congress government is in power. Remember in 1987-88 when Reliance tried to take over Larsen & Toubro through what were obviously not-completely-transparent methods and failed? I dont quite remember if any other problem crept up between 1991 and 1996, do you?
