DMK chief Karunanidhi is now singing a different tune while talking about the arrest of Sri Jayendra Saraswati. He now claims that there was vengeance in the Tamil Nadu government's handling of the issue. I guess its because he really wants to be seen singing from a different sheet compared to the government. For a few days after the acharya's arrest, it was as if the DMK and the AIADMK were both saying the same thing. Obviously he couldnt be seen supporting action taken by the AIADMK government. So he tried to play down the political angle by congratulating the TN police for their job, ignoring the fact that the government obviously gave the go ahead for the arrest. Now he finds himself in a spot after Jayalalitha went public with the government's stand for the first time since the arrest.
