Colin Powell put in his papers yesterday.
Fred Kaplan on one of the most appealing life stories in American politics.
Richard Cohen feels that Powell must have used his standing to oppose the war against Iraq.
The NY Times feels that Powell resigned when it was safe and convenient for Bush.
Powell was so much in conflict with the establishment's view that he is supposed to have joked that there was a jihad against him.
