Nearly a year and a half ago, I had rambled about the Kanchi Acharya involving himself in Ayodhya politics and about him surrendering away all the goodwill earned by the late Paramacharya. Yesterday night, he slid further in my opinion, when he was arrested connection with the murder/death of a former employee of the Sankara matam. 'Cho' Ramaswamy feels that while there may not be a significant political impact of this development, it is bound to deeply affect a fairly large number of Hindus, some of whom are my relatives too.
