After attempts by the Indian government to plead with the terrorists on the basis of religion and the crisis becoming graver by the day with fresh ransom demands, it seems like the Indian truck drivers taken hostage in Iraq could be close to being released after KGL announced that they had exitted Iraq. It must be remembered that the drivers were taken hostage over a month ago, so it really doesn't say much about the government's ability to handle a crisis firmly.

Then again, perhaps the delay was caused due to the bureaucracy. Maybe the Indian foreign ministry babus were interacting with some of the hostages/their supporters and the amount of dithering, procastinating, muddling around with terms etc. which the ministry officials indulged in pissed off the hostages bigtime and they decided they'd rather release the hostages than continue to deal with babu-dom for another month!
