PublicGyan - The information futures market

The Prediction Market concept suggests that opinions of a large body of responsible individuals put together provide a fairly accurate means of predicting outcomes of various events. PublicGyan is based on this and is probably the first effort of its kind in the blogosphere.

I've been among the early testers and it really does sound exciting. You don't actually make money out of it, but obviously there're "points", called moolers, up for grabs. Plus you get the thrill of predicting an event which happens in the future, and possibly getting it right.

For further details, read Nitin's post. The technical implementation of PublicGyan was done by Srijith. Coincidentally, the three of us are alumni of the same institution. Ok well, I did study there, but didn't graduate from there!
