Call me paranoid if you want, but I really think this whole issue of an artificially formed lake near the Himachal-China border is pretty much nothing but a Chinese ploy to play around with the Indo-China border in that area. It is bizarre that China didnt tell the Indian authorities about the landslides which caused this problem in advance. India was told about it a month after the landslides. Then China refuses to allow access to Indian engineers. First there are reports of some bursting activity, then China denies it. Something is afoot. I was pretty skeptical about the whole SARS thing too and if I remember right, I had mentioned in these pages that I thought it was China's experiment with bio-warfare which boomeranged upon them. The truth will possibly never be known!
