Yet another train accident and the clarion calls will go out for the Railway Minister Lalu Yadav's resignation. Its never going to happen. He is Lalu Yadav, not Lal Bahadur Shastri. Life insurance companies would do well to cash in on the paranoia among rail travellers and come up with new schemes.

The Vayudoot aircraft used to be termed 'Yamdoot' for the number of accidents which happened when it flew. Perhaps its time to come up with something similar for the Lauh Bhoots as well. The public meanwhile has a choice between travelling on accident prone, half-completed highways or destined-to-crash trains or use airlines but run the risk of the flight being delayed due to irate MLAs and MPs.
