Could Google's obsession with search prove costly?

BusinessWeek magazine wonders about how Google will fare when the web search market slows down over the next couple of years. In spite of its foray into into other offerings like email, blogs etc., Google's dependence on its search, currently contributing 98% of overall revenues, means that even these products are in some way or the other tied to its core search technology. Obviously there are fears that Google may be over-focussing on search at the detriment of other potential products and services to its ever-increasing number of consumers.
