FAA did not act despite warnings
The NY Times reports that a previously undisclosed report refers to the fact that the Federal Aviation Authority was given a lot of intelligence reports and warnings about the potential use of aircraft by terrorists. Yet the FAA officials' focus lay elsewhere and potentially, the tragic events of Sep 11, 2001 could have been averted.
