Thomas Friedman, and the NY Times, still seem baffled over the election result in India. I think he over simplifies when he says that the BJP and its allies got voted out because the average voted [read rural] wanted to get onto the globalization train. I think it was more a case of first get basic amenities & living conditions sorted out for me. I'll think of cellphones, internet & broadband later.
