Politics & ReligionThe International Religious Freedom Report for 2003 accuses the Indian government of discrimination against or persecution of minority or nonapproved religions. It talks about anti-conversion laws and the lack of convictions related to the Gujarat riots. There is a mention of the fact that the NDA is made up of the BJP, which has links to Hindu extremist groups as well as the ineffective investigation and prosecution of communal violence related incidents. Surprisingly I haven't seen any official government reaction to this report.
