Lalu Yadav's maiden Railway budget avoids any fare increases for passengers or freight. Unfortunately though the provision of free second class travel for unemployed youth going for central government job interviews is a blatant call to allow goondas and ruffians to upstage paying passengers from their seats (in sleeper class) on the pretext of going for a job interview. The better option would have been to get everyone to buy tickets and those who claimed that they were unemployed folks travelling for a government job interview would need to produce proof in the form of an interview call letter at the time of purchasing the ticket so that the amount could be waived.
